Electric vehicles are already cutting emissions, but new analysis suggests the next generation of EVs will be cleaner still.
A global study examining automotive supply chains shows carmakers are rapidly improving the sustainability of their EV production. Efforts now include low-carbon steel and aluminium, responsible mineral sourcing, and improved battery recycling systems.
The report also highlights growing transparency around battery materials such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, driven partly by new European regulations that require stronger supply-chain oversight.
Encouragingly, several automakers are already integrating these improvements into production models.
In short: the EV transition isn’t just about swapping engines for batteries. It’s about reinventing the entire automotive supply chain to be cleaner from mine to motorway.
