Now for a slightly frustrating one…
According to research covered by EV Powered, 64% of UK car buyers don’t even know the government’s EV grant exists.
That’s a pretty staggering stat when you consider the discount can be worth up to £3,750.
So what’s going on?
It’s not that the support isn’t there, it’s that it’s not landing with consumers. The message is getting lost somewhere between policy announcement and purchase decision.
Meanwhile, buyers are focusing on monthly affordability, not headline grants, meaning the benefit is often baked into finance deals rather than clearly communicated.
The result?
A classic case of good policy, poor visibility.
